Signs of Sleep Disorders
Do you have the following signs & symptoms?
- Do you snore?
- Are you always tired?
- Has your partner noticed that you gasp or stop breathing during sleep?
- Do you wake up in a sweat during the night?
- Do you wake up with morning headaches?
- Do you often wake up feeling un-refreshed?
- Have your energy and motivation levels decreased?
- Do you find it difficult to concentrate?
- Do you have daytime sleepiness, including falling asleep at inappropriate times such as during driving or work?
If you answer “yes” to any of the following, you may be at greater risk for
sleep apnea.
- Are you overweight?
- Does anyone else in your family have a history of snoring or sleep apnea?
- Do you have high blood pressure?
- Have you suffered a stroke or heart attack
- Do you have heart disease?
- Do you have large tonsils or adenoids?
- Do you have nasal congestion, nasal blockages, or nasal irritation?
Not everyone who snores has sleep apnea, but if you have two or more of the above symptoms, you should consider consulting a sleep specialist. Diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea can dramatically improve quality of life.
